2019 Book Challenge & Book Haul

Hello!

I am an avid reader! I still use that to describe myself even though I’ve barely read any books in the past two years. Maybe it’s just easier to turn on Netflix and binge a whole series in two days than it has been for me to finish a book. I love reading, I do, but I have been slacking with making the time and effort to sit down and read a book from start to finish.

I track my progress through Goodreads. In 2015, I read 24 books. In 2016, 18. The last two years? A total of six between the two. Quite sad, really.

Well I am determined to finish at least 15 books this year. I went to Chapters yesterday, spent some money and bought four new books to get me out of this reading lull. I do have more to-be-read books on my bookshelf, but sometimes you need some NEW books to get you excited to get out of this reading slump!

The four books I bought were:

  • The Boy by Tami Hoag
  • Our Kind of Cruelty by Araminta Hall
  • Look for Me by Lisa Gardner
  • In a Cottage in a Wood by Cass Green

I’m most looking forward to reading Tami Hoag’s novel. She is a great crime and thriller novelist. I’ve read four of her books and I absolutely devour them. I am going to hold off on that one though and save it for a bit. Instead, I’m starting with In a Cottage in a Wood which is set in London and seems like it might border on thriller and horror.

What books are you currently reading? Any suggestions for me?

I’ll keep you posted once I’m finished!

xoxo
